"The Ultimate Bridge to Nowhere"

I'll admit that I'm a bit late on this one but I just found this video of Gwen Ifill, the Vice-Presidental debate's moderator. She was on Meet the Press this past Sunday and did not seem too pleased with the way Governor Palin responded to her questions. To be honest, I think Ifill was a horrible moderator. Early on, she tried to reengage both candidates when they gave sugar coated answers to a question on their ability to reach bipartisanship in Washington but that was her sole attempt at being a respectable moderator. In this video, she states the obvious: That Sarah Palin blew her off. She also pushes the blame for the lack of debating that took place onto Biden. I understand her claim but Biden had to keep it a little less real than he wanted to ensure that he would not come across as a bully. Any attack on Palin herself would have turned into a McCain campaign commercial the next day accusing Biden of sexism or some other ridiculous accusation. Also, as a friend recently made clear to me, how can a senator accuse an 18 month governor of any policy related matter? There's really no comparison to the type of issues the two face.

Biden had to play defense and attack McCain's policies; check.
Palin had to not be a liability to McCain's campaign and connect with people; check.

Both did well. They just didn't really, you know, debate.
